At age five, living in a small town along the Detroit River, Sonya was already sharing her creativity—her mother found her at the end of their driveway, selling her paintings like a homemade lemonade stand. By twelve, during one of many cherished visits to her grandparents in Germany, her grandfather gifted her one of his old cameras. Photography became her main means of expression—a tool that still brings her solace, offering presence, mindfulness, and a connection to the creative process.

In her early twenties, she ventured out west to Arizona, where she earned degrees in Fine Art/ Geology, and Interior Design. Her life since has been shaped by a devotion to understanding and living in harmony with the natural world, guided by sustainable principles. Through it all, her love for the arts—and their power to evoke emotion, raise awareness, inspire change, and cultivate appreciation—remains deeply rooted in her soul.
